Asian University of Bangladesh (AUB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New York Institute of Technology (NYIT), one of the top-ranked universities in the United States at AUB Permanent Campus (Tongabari, Bangabhandhu Road, Ashulia, Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh) on 27th September, 2016. Prof. Dr. Abul Hasan M. Sadeq, Vice-chancellor, AUB, Dr. Muhammad Jafar Sadeq, Chairman, Board of Trustees, AUB, Prof. Dr. Rahmat A. Shoureshi, Vice President and Provost, NYIT, and Mr. Abdullah Al Faruque, Country Representative, International Finance and Development Corporation (IFDC), USA, were present. This MoU will contribute to the advancement of education and research in Bangladesh through joint collaboration, and specifically to the IT sector of Bangladesh in line with the vision of our Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
NYIT is one of the Top 25 Best Engineering Universities in New York and one of the Top 50 universities in North America. They have their campus in Canada, Abu Dhabi and China. They are interested to open NYIT campus in Dhaka partnering with AUB and IFDC. This opportunity is brought to Bangladesh by Bangladeshi American Kazi Helal Ahmed, President and CEO of IFDC. By signing this MOU, AUB will accept students soon in the NYIT-AUB joint degree programs in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering and BBA/MBA courses where students will have opportunity to complete their first 2 years with AUB Ashulia Campus then they will go to USA to complete their final 2 years in NYIT New York Campus, upon successful completion of final 2 years in USA with NYIT students will receive their graduation degree certificate from NYIT.
