B.S.S. (Hons.) in Sociology and Anthropology

The Objective of the B.S.S. (Hons.) in Sociology and Anthropology program is to acquaint students with the basic concepts and ideas of Sociology with a view to equip them with a sound foundation and knowledge with respect to the problems that man faces as a social being and their possible solutions for fetching social wellbeing and total welfare of man and the society which will prepare them to adjust to the reality of the multidimensional issues of the contemporary world.

Entry Requirement

The entry requirement for the B.S.S.(Hons.) in Sociology and Anthropology program is a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), A level, Alim or any other equivalent level of education recognized by the competent authority and also fulfilling any other conditions fixed by the authority.


Admission

Admission into B.S.S.(Hons.) in Sociology and Anthropology program is on a competitive basis. Aplicants will be required to sit for an admission test designated to judge their abilities and aptitude for the program. Candidates are selected for admission on the basis of past academic records, a written test and a viva examination.

Degree Requirements

A student will have to complete at least 120 credit hours (total 40 courses) for a four years B.S.S. (Hons.) in Sociology and Anthropology , out of which 87 credit hours (29 courses) for core courses while the remaining 33 credit hours (11 courses )for inter-disciplinary courses.

A student must get at least a 'C' grade to pass an individual course and maintain a minimum GPA 2.00
