B.A. (Hons.) in Islamic Studies

The Objective of the B.A. (Hons.) in Islamic Studies program is to present Islam as a complete code of life based on the revealed knowledge of the Holy Qur'an and Sunnah. The curriculum is designed to enable students to have a comprehensive worldview on Islam as an ideal system and its role in the development of human life according to the teachings and practical guidance of the Qur'an and Sunnah. Besides the major area of concentration, there will be some courses from a general inter-disciplinary body of knowledge which will prepare the syudents to adjust to the reality of contemporary world facing multi-dimensional issues.

Entry Requirement

For B.A.(Hons.) in Islamic Studies program, the entry level is a Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), A level or Alim or any other equivalent level of education recognized by the competent authority and also fulfilling any other conditions fixed by the authority.


Admission

Admission into B.A.(Hons.) in Islamic Studies program is on a competitive basis. Aplicants will be required to sit for an admission test designated to judge their abilities and aptitude for the program. Candidates are selected for admission on the basis of past academic records, a written test and a viva examination.

 
Degree Requirements

A student will have to complete at least 120 credit hours (total 40 courses) for a four years B.A. (Hons.) in Islamic Studies , out of which 90 credit hours (30 courses) for core courses while the remaining 30 credit hours (10 courses) for inter-disciplinary courses.

A student must get at least a 'C' grade to pass an individual course and maintain a minimum GPA 2.00

The fee structure for the B.A. (Hons.) in Islamic Studies program is as follows:

Students in the BA (Hons) in Islamic Studies program have the freedom to study Islamic Studies in general or focus their studies in a particular elds. Students are divided into the following groups according to their choice:
